Washington Crosses the Delaware

Posted by
Ruthiebear (Titusville, NJ, United States) on 3 July 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

Happy Silly Tuesday! Here is the bridge at Washington Crossing. Tomorrow being 4th of July, I thought it would be appropriate to post a piece of Revolutionary War history.
Ruthie : I do not know why Washington had to use those little boats to cross the river on that cold, icy, snowy night in 1776, when they could have just used this bridge to get across.
Johnny S: I do not even know where to begin to explain...

I love it! A very funny storyline! They had to use the boats to make it more dramatic since they were making a historic moment! Wonderful POV! It provides great detail on the structure of the bridge. Happy ST!

I guess a painting of Washington crossing a bridge and not in the prow of the boat would not be as effective.
