Tipping My Hat To You

Posted by Ruthiebear (Titusville, NJ, United States) on 19 July 2012 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

A baby parade is one of the highlights of the 4th of July celebration in my town. I am trying to learn to take better portraits so I tried my hand at it that day. Let me know what you think.
I value your comments.

Ah....the troubles of photographing toddlers ;-)
There are always adults around who always get there hands into the pictures, I guess it takes a lot of time and patience to catch the youngster alone in the frame.

@Curly: Thanks for your thoughts. I wanted the smiling parent on the edge of the shot this time.

'Portraits' is such a solemn word like it is one step removed from life rather than one step closer to it. What you got here is a natural moment and it is all the better for that. Enjoy.

Very creative framing - I like the way you capture the moment and the adult's smile on the edge of frame is excellent.

I rarely click on thumbnails of little kids, but this one got my attention. For a candid shot, I think this is very good. The shade on the boy's face helped you capture undistorted detail. I love his chubby face and arm. Toddlers are adorable (usually).

@Susan Rose: Thank you so much. I visited your site and found no where to comment on your lovely images.
