I remember rotary phones and the use of words to get people to remember the prefixes, like FUlton above. One familiar one here was NAtional and BIG. I do not remember party lines, though. I always wondered why the #1 never had letters. Great capture!

What memories. When we had our first dial phone (after the one with the crank that called Central), our number was Cherry Hill then a number. Thanks for the memories, as Bob Hope used to sing.

Two long and a short was our ring. Yes, I remember those days in the rural Midwest. It was many years before we had a phone because no phone lines ran by our house. Such a cool image.
