Réponse pour Tataray :"Mais, au fait, pourquoi construire un toit pour un pont? Comme à cette époque les ponts étaient construit entièrement en bois, les concepteurs ont vite réalisé que ceux-ci se détérioraient assez rapidement à cause de l'exposition constante aux intempéries et que la nécessité de trouver une solution à ce problème s'avérait urgente; de là l'idée du toit! Il faut croire que cette idée était bonne puisque encore aujourd'hui, plusieurs dizaines d'années plus tard, nous pouvons admirer ces chefs-d'oeuvre."(infrastructures.com)
