WHo'S That Knocking

Posted by
Ruthiebear (Titusville, NJ, United States) on 28 April 2020 in Animal & Insect.

when I got up one morning last week, I heard a rhythmic banging. I searched the house and found it was loudest in the living room. It seemed to be coming from within the chimney above the fireplace stove. I suggested to hubby that it sounded like a woodpecker. Upon exploring outside, we beheld a woodpecker on top of the chimney cap, pecking on the metal. Roof is too high, even with my zoom lens to get a close look. This is the best I could get.
Happy ST

Amusing photo Ruthie. All that's missing is the knock-knock sound that bird makes on the chimney

Lol! There used to be a woodpecker at work that pecked on the bottom of an upturned tub every day. You have to wonder if they like the noise.
