There's always a sense of sadness about abandoned farmhouses in the countryside. But over time, if they're not demolished, nature reclaims them, with its vegetation and animals making them their dens. It's a bit like what happens to ships at the bottom of the sea. Beautiful image.

What makes this photo eerie is the trees in the background without leaves thus the lack of color. I like the worn-out look and textures.

I have always wondered why places like this are not just torn down. The old wood is so popular now and the stone could be reused. It is rather pretty with the stone and the weathered wood. But it looks like it is probably past being renovated. A perfect image for this week's theme.
